The engineering element of Technical Division formed into Engineering Services Division in June 1968. It was re-named Engineering Division in 1969.
The division moved to Brandon House, London in December 1981. Brandon House, London was the headquarters of the Engineering Division from December 1981.

An important part of this division, were Unilever Engineering (UE) who also had a large team at Vlaardingen. Unilever Engineering offered a wide variety of services to Unilever companies, ranging from design, to project management and plant construction. They also tendered for engineering projects in competition with outside contractors although UE were only allowed to work for Unilever companies.

Unilever Engineering was also involved in projects across the world, offering unique expertise related to the work of the co-ordinations. The Engineering Division was re-organised by Iain Ritchie who had taken over from John McMillan when he retired. It went from a purely engineering group to become the Corporate Manufacturing & Engineering Group (CMEG). The team was moved from London to Port Sunlight in April 1995 and was based in the new Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), Quarry Road East. CMEG occupied the third floor of the MTC until it became CMG. In 1997 Ian Midgley took over and changed the name to Corporate Manufacturing Group (CMG).

UE, CMEG and CMG all operated under the Corporate Supply Chain. In 2000 it was absorbed by the Global Supply Chain which brought together the Corporate and Category Engineering teams into one single group.
All of the Global Supply Chain is located at the MTC, Port Sunlight and is 100% funded by Corporate.
The team includes 80 people including 7 specialist Engineers and 35 category planners and technologists.
It provides the following engineering services:
