Organisation Division formed July 1956 and responsible to Special Committee - to investigate and keep under review the organisational structure of the business, and to co-ordinate services previously supplied by Production Study dept, and O&M Dept.
New section created 1961 - Productivity Services (Technical), other sections included operational statistics/planning services.
Took over advisory service on development of computers and management of computer unit at Unilever House in 1961 (took over from Financial group).
Productivity (General) section closed down 1963. New commercial section set up in same year. Also a statistical methods section.
Division restructured 1 September 1966 into general management services group and business systems group.
Computer education unit moved to OD 1969.
Transport and distribution advisory dept created 1 January 1974, along with marketing and sales (amalgamation of London and Rotterdam divisions).
July 1977 London and Rotterdam offices changed into operating companies - Unilever International Management Consultants Ltd (London) and Unilever International Management Consultants BV (Rotterdam).
Moved from St Bridgets House to Farringdon Street 1980. Re-named Unilever International Management Consultants (UIMC).

Head office organisation services renamed Organisation Division 1969. Special Committee working party for the integration of London and Rotterdam departments. OD then divided into several sections:
Secretarial; information service; operations research; computer applications; management information; marketing, sales & distribution; industrial engineering; operations planning; building planning; training; office methods; special projects.
