TitleAnnual Estimates
DescriptionAnnual Estimates for the following year were usually compiled in the last quarter of the current year. Pre- discussion annual estimates were seen by the various companies, co-ordinations and divisions involved and after changes had been agreed a post-discussion annual estimate was released.

The estimates included a review of the coming year and plans, and included additional information such as Capital Expenditure Budgets, Marketing Tables/Notes, and Supplementary Financial Schedules. Up until the mid 1960s the full title was Annual Estimate and Capital Expenditure Budget. Until the early 1970s the title was Annual Estimate, Capital Expenditure Budget, and Notes. The title Annual Estimate tended to be used from c1973 onwards.

Capital Expenditure Budgets and Supplementary Financial Schedules were also released separately. Some annual estimates for the early 1980s in the collection are supplementary information only. Occasionally annual estimates are combined with annual operating plans or long term plans.

If no date is given for an annual estimate it can be assumed that it was prepared in the last quarter of the previous year (e.g. annual estimate for 1975 prepared in the last quarter of 1974).
