The Foods Division of UAC Ltd , created 1973, was responsible for providing buying, technical and management services to the Foods Division of UAC of Nigeria Ltd which manufactured a wide range of food products in factories in Lagos and Onitsha. This included a variety of meat products, both fresh and frozen, made from beef, pork and poultry, as well as pies and sausage rolls baked daily for immediate distribution in major towns. A range of frozen confectionery was made under the Walls brand name, as well as sugar confectionery. The Foods Division was dissolved on 30 September 1980. In 1983 it became part of Consumer Products Division, and in 1986 part of Food and Agriculture Division [formerly Agriculture & Forestry Division]. UAC International was associated with Lipton of Nigeria Ltd making coffee and tea. From 1974 Foods Division of UAC of Nigeria took over the distribution of Ovaltine from Lipton, which was distributed throughout Nigeria. Niger France was a shareholder in companies which imported, bottled, and sold wine throughout French-speaking Africa. It also ran a tea-packing plant in Zaire.
