[In 1980] there were three wholly owned UAC companies in Cameroon:
R W King SA - textiles, Fradis Ltd and Equitec, plus 60 per cent of Group properties. King's had been in existence in the Cameroon since the beginning of the 20th century. It successively abandoned its Produce, General Goods and Motors activities, retaining the Textile branch and expanding its Equipment Department.
Ciacam (Compagnie Industrielle d'Automobiles du Cameroun) - Motors, plus 40 per cent of Group properties. Created in 1965, at the time of the take-over of the Citroen agency, which it abandoned in 1977 in favour of the Nissan and Isuzu franchises.
Socomi (Societe Commerciale de Materiel Industriel) - Matforce (machinery and electrical). Purchased in 1975, along with the agency for Stihl saws.
