DescriptionPhotographic record of a tour of duty in the Belgian Congo by an unidentified Belgian medical officer in the employment of the Huileries du Congo Belge. With photographs of his journey on the S/S Elisabethville from Antwerp via Tenerife [Canary Islands], Dakar [Senegal], Conakry [French Guinea], and Grand Bassam [Ivory Coast], to Kinshasa October 1923, and of plant, premises, river craft and employees of HCB at Kinshasa and elsewhere. Including photographs of Dr Harold Seidelin, Chief Medical Officer and Dr Indorff, medical officer at Kinshasa, and views of the latter's consulting room, the local SEDEC building, a medical tour of inspection on the Kwilu river, natives picking palm fruit, unidentified mission buildings, schools and hospitals, social events, and the visit of an important dignitary [?Lord Leverhulme] October- [November] 1924
